007 Skyfall and 13:50 ish into the movie when they roll the opening credits sequence image.jpgthis pops up.

Looks like a Ka-Bar 1217 at first but the finger guard is off, second is that the pommel isn't quite the same. Cheapo model? Or another brand of it?

I noticed that in the theatres, they also use a LOT of F/S Style fighting knives in that credit sequence.

I've watched the movie twice, last night, and tonight, with my boys. I don't think any of those knives were Kabar. Maybe the Glock or a new variation of the F/S that I haven't seen.

It was in the opening sequence musical bit. I would bet my bottom dollar on it. KA-BAR has been in bond before with Halle Barry so it's not a stretch.

I say it IS a Kabar or imitator , the guard looks just right for some of the black F/U knives.

Definitely doesn't look like a glock. Anybody have one of those btw??

Just looked at the intro and looked at that part 20-ish times. It's a USMC Mk.II pattern knife but it isn't a Ka-bar, the finger guard is too thick for any of the Ka-Bar produced models.

Looking closer you can see a small portion of the edge sweeping in right before the area where the ricasso is on a traditional USMC Mk.II.

It's probably a prop or a copy but from what's shown it isn't a real Ka-Bar, at least not without modifications done to the handle.

The handle for sure says Ka-Bar to me. Judging from the looks of the handle and guard, I think it's this knife (KA-BAR Tanto). Pictured in the same orientation as the image from the original poster, the handle and guard appear exactly right to me.

My guess is Hollywood prop. They don't like real weapons in movies...weapons are dangerous...actors are "improtant" and movies are expensive to make. A prop is safe and preferred by the lawyers.

It's not the Ka-Bar tanto, if you look at the opening credits you'll see the blade too and it's a standard USCM Mk.II blade too.

The quality is bad, you can still make out the blade shape though.

In the same picture, look in the middle of the screen at the bottom. Same knife.

Worth noting is that is is not uncommon for the prop folks to take production gear and modify it.
