Received the Basic 7 yesterday from our beloved hog (Thanks to JR42 aka Jeremy), and it came with few scratches . . .

Then, after a few blasted with Aluminum Oxide . . . it looks REAL NICE!!

Wondering if it'd effect the edge in anyway, so I tested it on a bamboo stick . . .

That is a really cool trick! I might do that to some of my blades. Where do you go to get this done? Great pics santi.
 
Nice job on the basic. Makes me wish i had one lying around to blast. :cool:

BTW there is no need to protect the handle while blasting, the media bounces of the rubber. IIRC.

according to my dopey ass calculations, it aught to be pretty good; on par w/standard infi.
afaik, it's the carbon-chromium ratio that determines corrosion resistance.
i think that's the same in infi/mod infi.

The machine is not mine, it's a good friend's. So, it's FOC.

And yes, he told me that the media won't eat rubber handle.

would this be the same finish as the double cut bead blast? if so i have found that to be the most durable of all the busse coatings.

I'm not so sure but the process is similar.
Though, the Double-Cut is blasted with Glass-Bead if I understand correctly, and mine is with Aluminum-Oxide.

here's a couple i did two years ago. i did not protect the handles on either and they were unharmed.
