I just received my Fallkniven F1 today and I am extremely impressed. I was looking for a stainless survival type knife and read a lot of great reviews of the blade. It is really a no BS knife...and I am also really impressed with the zytel sheath. Simple and effective.
 
Congrats! The F1 is a great blade. Hope youll enjoy it in the outdoors as much as i enjoy my Fallknivens.
 
Fallknivens are some of the best production fixed blades IMO, there vg-10 has great edge retention and is pretty tough.
 
Nice work and great choice! I just got a second F1 (with custom micarta scales) because the F1 is THAT good. I've taken it on nearly every camping trip, bushwalk and hike and whenever I didn't take it I felt it was missed. I also really like the zytel sheath, I find it strange that others think that it feels cheap.
 
I can't say much that the others haven't already covered. The F1 is just a no nonsense, awesome freakin knife. It's been my primary belt knife for a couple of years now and there's really not a whole lot I can't get done with it. From bushcraft to camp chores to skinning game, the F1 can do it all. I haven't found any 4" knife that provides me the confidence that knife does. Like Hand of Cod, I loved the standard version so much that I purchased a blank to do my own custom. It's just one of those knives that everyone should try at least once. Congrats on the purchase and I hope it serves you as well as mine has.
 
I got one in Feb. I love the knife. My only problem was with the sheath. I cut off part of the retention strap and fused the ends and now it is much better.

I like the fact that you can buy the f1 as a blank, then add your own scales.

You know....I am thinking of getting a blank for myself. I made a CVA Green River kit knife back in the 1970's......this might be my mid life knife kit.
