So I bought a Sanrenmu

I've been eyeballing a Sebenza for weeks now. I was unsure on if I should get a large or a small, and being a lefty made my options very thin. That's when I saw the Sanrenmu. It was about the size of of the small, so I figured I'd buy one to see if I liked the size and kind of go from there in what to choose. Well I went ahead and ordered the sucker since it was so cheap. Put in my order and waited for tracking. Turns out the knife was shipping from China and wouldn't be here for 3 weeks! Mind you, this order was placed at the end of December. In the mean time I kept lurking through the knife exchange just in case I saw a deal, and also went ahead and put an ad in the WTB section. Just so happens that forum member here happened to have a small lefty Sebenza Micarta that he was willing to part with! I just couldn't hold myself back, and pulled the trigger. That was three days ago, and today my knives both came in. Haha
Long story short, the only thing this Sanrenmu will ever be used for is to open my Sebenza package. 😬

Super excited! 👍

Also, what's a quick and easy way to sharpen the edge back up, the knife came a little dull and I don't have anything to sharpen with at the moment.

If you know how to freehand sharpen, the bottom of a ceramic mug works just fine for an emergency sharpening. Just use the ring around the bottom of the mug that's unglazed ceramic, and find your bevel. It shouldn't take too many passes to get a working edge until you can get it sharpened properly.

I do this for friends if I'm at their house and they don't have sharpening equipment. Works well!

Great acquisition story. I love reading the path to CRK goodness like that. Congrats!

Yeah. I almost lost it on the first day 😑 I had clipped it on my back pocket and when I sat up the clip caught and flung the knife out of my pocket. Bent the clip so I decided to go with out it. Really loving the knife though. It does feel a little small, but it's perfect for what I need. Only problem is that now I need to buy a large. 😇
