I found out a local hardware store is closing its doors. Since this was the place I found a few made in the U.S. Schrades a few years ago, I figured I'd stop by and see what they had left. Unfortunately, I missed out, as someone had already come through and bought the rest of the knives in the case. I was a bit down for the moment, when I got a crazy idea and asked if the display was for sale. She said it was, but that it didn't have a price yet. I left my name and number, and promptly forgot about it until she called me up last night and asked if I were still interested. When she told me the price, I knew I had to jump on this deal.

I attached a pic I took, but since it was with my camera phone it's not the best size or quality.

Just goes to show, sometimes it never hurts to ask;)

Too cool. I can see you now have your mission set out for you.

I'll look forward to watching that case get filled over time...I only wish I had a Schrade or two to send your way.
 
I actually have a couple of Schrades to get me started. I think I know where I can get a few more around here too. It should definitely be an adventure if I decide to go through with it.
 
Nice score; those old displays are going to get harder & harder to come by. Good luck with filling it up - that would be a very rewarding & educational endeavor.

They actually had a Case knives display as well, but I think the girlfriend would wring my neck if I brought them both home.

When I first opened this one up, my heart started beating a little faster because there were a bunch of boxes left in there. Turns out they were all empty though. Ah well..

Don't worry, they still have collector interest; if you don't want to keep them, you can sell/trade them here in the sale forum.
