So I bought one of the Dumpster Mutts at KCR, now I need a sheath!

As the title states, I bought one of the two (that I saw) Scrapyard Knives Dumpster Mutts at KCR yesterday. I don't recall who I talked to at the show, but it took me a while to decide to buy it, both of those guys were real patient with me, and I appreciate it!

I paid the exorbitant price of $69 plus tax. :)

Now, I need a sheath. Searching over at the Scrapyard forum site, I got two names: Rainmaker and David Browne. David posts here and I found his site; he appears to focus on holsters for guns but he also does knives, although I didn't see a sheath for the DM. I couldn't find the Rainmaker site at all.

What I'm looking for is a Kydex sheath much like what I got with my ESEE RC-4, simple, and I hope pretty cheap. I plan to use paracord to make a belt loop.

I'd like to order off the shelf, with pics and prices already known.

Who's good to go to, given the above?

Thanks,

Al

Oh, the DM: Hell of a good looking knife! It looks just as heavy-duty as my Becker Crewman, if not more so. The only downside, which I haven't confirmed yet, is the handle appears to be a little small for my large hands. Having said that, I haven't had a chance to use it yet, so the jury is still out on that. From reading the Scrapyard site, it appears the price I paid was a very good price, which is one of the major reasons I decided to buy it since I need another knife like I need another hole in the head.

Anyway, thanks for listening and any help.

Thanks,

Al

Nice score, I love my Mutt, it's a sharpened Sherman Tank... I have a kydex sheath for mine, just looked no makers mark on it.....scroll down halfway on this link and there are all of the best sheath makers to choose from.

congrats...now go pry open a door with it

I've used a lot of makers, thus far steelnut has been the best for me. Honorable mentions go to Mashed Cat and Dave Brown.

don't forgert okedun.;)

I've been told by many that okuden makes a greath sheath, I'll have to try him. Steelnut makes the best I'VE tried, I don't really know how to improve on them. Seems to be very overlooked for some reason.

If you want Kydex, best to find some one with the knife so you don't have to send it.
All of the above are excellent. Mashed Cat is good stuff too:thumbup:
I do not have a DM anymore:(

Mashed cat has been great for me.

Love the look of Buy Brown

Never held a Oduken

The other sheath maker you were looking for is Jeff at Rainwalker. He does create some beautiful leather Bussekin sheaths.

For kydex, I have only gone to David at Buy Brown so far.

David Brown is good to go, i've got a couple of his sheaths coming and a couple already here. Good workmanship and a nice fit.

Nice score, but let me help you a little. It's Rainwalker Creations. Just google search that and you'll find him very easily!

I'm a Mashed Cat whore...Eric does fantastic work.
