I stumbled on to an old Camillus camp knife last week on the bay crazy cheap, and it just called to me. It arrived in the mail on Wednesday and I'm just getting around to getting a good look at it and wanted to share what I see. I don't have a lot of knowledge here so I'm asking the more learned to tell me what they can about what I have. I can say it doesn't seem to have gotten much use. Actually, I don't think it's ever seen a stone. All blades open smooth and close with a nice snap. Obviously the plastic covers have drawn up exposing the scales a bit and it could use a little love, oil, and polish, but I'm fairly impressed considering it's obviously an older knife. I'm not looking for a value. I'm just looking for information. I'm also looking for opinions on whether or not to have the covers replaced. Would you do it and give this old scout a new life? If so with what covers and who could do it?
