So I guess it's an addiction now?

So many of you know I got a Large Insingo when my daughter was born:

Well a few days ago I got this Small Raindrop from a good friend of mine and I haven't been able to put it down!!

I have handled smalls and larges separately several times and never really noticed a huge difference between them beside one being smaller. After carrying my Large for several months now, the Small feels like a COMPLETELY different knife.

So for this one, instead of the blue/polished ti bead, I think I'm going to go with a damascus one.

I think I might need a 25 next...

I've never handled a small sebenza, does it feel "too small" for you? Or since it's Damascus did you want something a little smaller and discrete; like a "gentlemans knife"?

I usually stay away from blades less than 3.5" because they just don't fill my hand up enough.

No, it doesn't feel too small but I don't have giant hands either. I don't even think I could pick at this point because they are so different. It'd be like comparing my 3in xm-18 to a xm-24.

If you shy away from sub 3.5 inch blades, it might be too small for you. I would still suggest handling one if you get the chance.

I love the damascus, but I wasn't willing to shell out the extra money for it when I bought my sebenza (big regret). The top of the blade, where you can see the layered damascus, is beautiful to me.
Now concerning the 25, it's an amazing knife, and so is everything CRK.

Yeah, I wasn't sold on the 25 at first but my buddy Ron has a insane modded 25 that I was drooling over when he showed it to me.

The action on that knife is unbelievable.

Right on Scurvy, excellent knives! I personally rotate between my Large 21 (anodized plain jane) and my Small carbon fiber Damascus 21. I carry the small 21 way more than the Large but really feel like both knives feel excellent in the hand.

Congrats on your newest score, and of course, the birth of your daughter! Went ahead and followed you on IG so I can keep up with your blade stuff!

Ditto. That ladder damascus looks excellent!

That's why I have so damn many of them. Currently I'm rotating a 25, Umnumzaan, and micarta 21. There's just too many combo's to choose from. Looks like a LH 25 is on the list to get. I look at all of them and think I need to thin the bunch, but when I start trying to decide which ones to part with, I can't bring myself to part with any. At first, didn't think I'd like the small, then I got one in hand and a dozen later I'd say I love them as much as the larges.

I too always looked over the smalls. Then I saw a beautiful amber inlay small that was $350 bnib and had to jump on it. Since then I've had a whole new respect for them.
Although I do prefer the large, the small is plenty of knife.

I rotate a large micarta tanto ( beat to hell) a small amber inlay cgg, and a large raindrop cgg, and wouldn't think of getting rid of any of them.

I'm not sure how I feel about the 25. I've liked the 21 so much, and it takes huge amounts of punishment without mechanically showing it, I have no reason to change.
My micarta has been through hell, and it's only cosmetically effected. Mechanically it's perfect. I've had lesser knives fail under less abuse. I won't think twice about plunging that tanto into just about anything I need to. Just awesome tools. Make sure you treat them as such!

It's funny to see how it starts.
While it's not an addiction yet (since you got different knives) you are definitely infected.
Cool blades. The 25 is a great knife and the version you showed is really nice.

I just bought a large 21 Insingo after selling mine a few months back. I would like to get a small 21 for the office as well. :)

Is it an addiction? Yes.

CRK's are like Lay's... you can't just have one!

Nice damascus! I still haven't convinced myself that if I got one I'd actually use it, so I'm sticking with normal blades for now.

First you'll baby it. Then you'll start bringing it along with another user. Then before you know it, you'll be popping of zip ties :)

Here's my tanto
