So initially I had made up my mind about the fox Emerson karambits didn’t particularly matter which one then I noticed that the 479? I think is it’s name was like $40 on Amazon yet other places value fox karambits around 150 or 200 which made me question if there was a defect which lead me to the linear lock on like all fox karambits fail under mild impacts to the spine of the knife or possibly to the blade play leading to it popping loose anyone care to share input if this is still true for that particular knife? And then I came across by accident the buck n bear tactical karambit which looks sturdy in comparison but I saw it also had issues with the linear lock does anyone have information on that knife as well long term? Since some said Amazon was selling counterfeits or it might be the Chinese versions that may be faulty supposedly they are made only for left hand draw and the linear lock is softer then copper and break down extremely fast

I would be weary of $50 vs $150 most other places, that's the benefit of buying from a reputable source.

No first hand experience with the Fox karambit, so I cannot attest to the strength of the liner lock. But I do believe you pay a premium for "made in Italy" as I think most of their stuff is overpriced for n690.

And the clip is reversible BTW for right and left hand carry.

I’m carrying a knife today that I made in only six hours, compared to my usual 30 or 40+. Should I be suspicious of myself?

Based on the user name, I'm guessing English is a second (or fifth) language.

Do not buy knives on Amazon. You are usually going to get something counterfeit from them.

I agree with the posts above. Do not buy knives from Amazon. Stick to reputable dealers. I had a Fox 479 and it had great fit and finish with a wicked blade. I recommend.

I tried to look for N690 knives not from China. From your wisdom, where can I find a good priced N690 not from China?
Same thing applies to most of the common steel like D2, 14C28N, 440C, etc.

To OP, check the vendor. It might be a 3rd party vendors. It is hard to tell if 3rd parties are, though some are actually alright.
But at that price difference, it is probably not.

Maybe, but I doubt it.
Ryujin =Dragon God 龍神 Takayama=Tall mountain 高山.
Not a real person's name. Sounds like an anime fan.
But yea, I'd suggest remedial English during the summer.
