So I just bought a Ti Millie....

I found myself with a little extra money so I thought I would give it a shot, since I have come to count Spyderco among my two favorite knife companies (the other being Cold Steel), and have come to trust their quality. No pictures yet, will be added once I receive it. I bought it lightly used and got a wicked deal - I only paid less than $220 shipped!!!

I probably should have asked this beforehand, but what's the backspacer made of? And, dunno if this is a real no no or not, but it happens to be the early version without the steel lock insert... will I have any problems down the road? I like to flick my knives once in a while (not incessantly, I am aware of the wear it puts on a knife). If significant wear does occur, will Spyderco fix her up?

And, lastly, well...any Ti Millie owners have anything to say about it? This is my first Ti frame lock, so I'm a little nervous.

The backspacer is aluminum, years ago they were something along the lines of FRN.

You will probably get one with the SS lockbar insert, not many we're made without it. If excessive wear occurs I'd send it in and let the warranty dept evaluate it.

It's a nice knife, but I feel like Ti is overkill. It's too heavy, and I've never felt like I needed a Framelock over the already excellent liner lock.

The lock is actually part of the reason I got this version over the G10 Millie; I just don't like liner locks. I don't mind the extra weight, either.

Would the warranty dept. cover wear of the lock bar? Most companies don't cover wear and tear, from what I understand.

It will be fine without the lockbar insert.

The Ti Military is my favorite Spyderco, so much that I transplanted CPM-M4 and M390 blades into them. I have a couple of the linerlocks in CF and Digicam, but I never carry those.
