I know, it looks pretty horrendous- file marks left in the handle, a big divot in the blade from grinder pilot error, a super low overall level of finish- but I'll tell you what; I really enjoyed making it and now using it. Maybe I'll finish it up nice, but I'm more interested in making another (better) one. There are not many knives I can claim to have made, but this one has lit a fire that's consuming my passion for designing knives.

Anyway, it kind of feels like I'm at the beginning of a journey that I started on- here in this forum- around 16 years ago. I have a feeling that this next year is going to curve steeply upward...

Just like with people, knives with unique little quirks seem more fun to be around.

That knife looks very useable!

thanks fellas 😁

This knife works well enough, but I've drawn up another one that I'm pretty sure is going to work better- the blade will be 8", the handle scales will be thicker and the handle profile is very slightly different. I might still finish this one out for the practice and to fix a couple little things, but it's working so far and that was my goal. The fam seems to like using it, and that's always a good sign

looks good to me ! be careful its addictive ;) i have been making them for 17 years but i am a poor designer. we are on opposite ends of the spectrum . we are always willing to help in the bladesmiths question and answer section.
