I made a few adjustments to my 710. I wet sanded the blade and the liners to 2000 grit. Then took them to the buffer, I found a lot of surface pits in the d2 blade I just could not get them out. Here are the results, hope you guys enjoy.

I can´t really see if it looks good or not. Shiny though.

Is it smoother to open?

I think it is a little smoother to open, but I have been carrying a kershaw 1550 for a few weeks while I was doing the work on the 710.

That looks great. I think it adds a little high-end class to the knife. You did a good job.

You did well. As for the "pits," what you're probably running into is D2's tendency to have an "orange peel" surface, presumably from the large, frequent carbides ripping out.

for the hand polishing of hardened tool steel  , i think you did remarkably well! very nice mirror

how long did it take you?

It took about 4 hours per side of the blade there abouts. The steel really killed the 400 grit paper after about 1 min of use.

I had a BM425 that in addition to waving and tip upping the clip, I mirror polished the blade, washers, and contact areas in liners. Slicker than IKBS.

Nice job:thumbup: The 710 is one of my all time favorite knives, and you made it look great! I've done a mirror polish on a few different knives and really like the way it looks.
