Traded a 6 month old lightly used CC Strider SnG for a brand new large Micarta insingo.

And I could not be happier!

Hit up my local knife shop today to pick up Spydercos new Street Bowie. And I ended up coming home with two new knives instead of the one.

Its kinda funny because I had zero intentions of doing a trade at all. I've been eyeing up this exact Sebenza for a while now, so while I was handling it I half heartedly joked about trading not really expecting him to take me up on the offer. So when he did I jumped at the chance without a second thought.

Strider makes a decent knife especially with the new lock up. But after giving my large 21 a break in favour of the SnG for 6 months. I don't think I would go back to carrying a Strider. For me CRK is where it's at!

Congrats, you definitely got the better end of that deal. I have had some pretty bad experiences with Strider and will not buy another. As you stated, CRK is where its at...!!! I know an insingo will be in my future, its just when.....???...LOL.

Great score! I love micarta inlays as well as the insigno blade. Have it in the small seb platform and carry it often.. Enjoy that beauty!

Did you not like your SNG? It's funny, I've really gotten into higher end knives the last couple of months and my first "high end" knife" ended up being a new small sebenza 21, then a large 21, and then a 25. Wanting to expand my collection, I have tired so many higher end knives, Not strider though, and nothing, I mean NOTHING has even come close to any of my sebenza's. Even some $1000 production and customs if had, which I got rid of..... Chris Reeve knives are something else.

Thanks guys. Im quite happy with it. It's my first Sebenza with an inlay.

No, it's not that I didn't like the Strider. They make a decent knife especially the ones with the new lock up.
Mine had good F&F, centred blade, good lock up etc,
But,
I've been carrying either a Sebenza or an Umnumzann for the last 4 years.
So going from a CRK to a Strider and back to CRK it was easy enough for me to see that the Striders are just not my cup of tea.

For me the absolute quality rests with CRK. Just one observation, I had been carrying that SnG for 6 months straight. So the knife I thought was well brokin in. But when I pulled the brand new Sebenza out of the box I was surprized to find that it was a lot more smoother. Just little things like that.

I've had a lot of Striders, maybe 15. ...SMF's (also NSN's), Sng's, SJ's and multiple PT's. I've used Strider Service once and it was above and beyond.
They did a MAJOR rebuild on a Very Used (and abused) folder at ZERO cost to me. Love their Customer Service.

I love the Micarta Sebs--it's really the only inlay that I like because of the all sandblasted Ti and silver hardware. Beauty and grace!
