So I picked up my first Busse, I think it’s a Team Gemini M. What can you tell me about it?

I ran across this on eBay, the seller didn’t have a ton of details on the knife but I was pretty sure it was Team Gemini M and I thought the price was right ($315 plus tax and shipping) so I bought it. The blade is just over 6” long, it has a bronze finish and Micarta scales. Searching around I see that there were a few different versions of this knife. I’m no expert and I could be wrong, but I believe it is INFI and not one of the first run. What can you guys tell me about these or this knife in particular? Is there any meaning to the Team Gemini name? All I really know about the knife is Busses general reputation of making badass Knives. How did I do, good purchase?

A few years ago Jerry explained the name:

A few years ago I designed the Bear Cub in honor of my oldest daughter, Katie Bear. So, in honor of my twins, I designed the two Team Gemini blades. A friend of mine refers to my twins, Paul and Maddie as "Team Gemini". Paul is a big boy and Maddie is shockingly smaller, (She's 2 1/2 years old and only weighs 19lbs). Despite her diminutive size there is little doubt who runs the show. She often puts Paul on time-outs when he misbehaves with the simple pointing of her finger at the time-out chair. . . . . and sometimes she does it to him when he hasn't done anything wrong just to remind him of who the boss is. . . :D

So the "M" in Team Gemini M is for Maddie. they were introduced at Blade in 2012.

It looks like what you have there is a Team Gemini M CG, probably from the December 2, 2015, "Operation Two Weeks" offer. You can see an archived version of the offer page here.

There was also a Special Edition in A2 released in 2017, but it would say "Special Edition" under the Busse logo. I don't think there's been a Battle Grade SR-101 version yet, but if there were, it would say "Battle Grade." Yours is INFI.

Also, $347 new in 2015, so you got a pretty good price. They'd probably be close to $400 in INFI if they offered them again.

The joint in the holster would irritate my thigh when sitting, the moleskin fixed that problem.

You know what, thats a fake, send it to me so I can destroy it for you

Damn, beat me to it.

Hey excat four poster lurker, ya done good. You now have two choices:

1. Beat the ever-loving crap out of it, which will confirm that Busse is Badazz, and you will max out your credit cards to get more and more and more of them... or...
2. Flip it now before you go down the Road to Perdition.

We have seen this before. Just trying to help.

Awesome deal - would have bought that in a second for that price - nice score!

Chingon1988 You may be right. The seller stated it was bronze but it does look brown depending on the light.

What does Busse use for blade coating?

I’ve considered it. I’m not sure I can bring myself to use it. It’s a lot easier to beat the crap out of a $100 knife and I’m not sure I love the handle. I can’t make my mind up on it, the flare on the bottom makes it a bit difficult to reverse my grip.
