Is it gonna fall apart in one use?

I have noticed that the guard is misaligned on the spine side and it is rather thin stock.

How about seeing how the steel performs, and use it to be a project knife and make some custom scales for it.

It is an easy project and can teach you quite a bit. Often times it is rather inexpensive too.

I guess that depends on how you use it. :D
I'm not familiar with Imperial's fixed blades, but if it's anything like their folders, the steel will take a sharp edge, but I wouldn't pry or baton with it. Neat find.

The blade itself seems like it could be nice, the handle scales seem like they wouldn't last though, sheath is basically a throw away, I guess someone at a certain auction site found a large cache of new old stock Imperials, these fixed blades and 3 different kinds of folders.

I would just use the heck out of it. If for some reason it "falls apart", then its a good opportunity for you to customize it by fixing it up.

As said above, if the scales fall off you can stick something else on, but I've never seen an old one without its handles. It's an admirably compact knife. Nice to see one still shiny.

Good score. Presuming you don't batton with it, or use it as a pry bar, hammer, or other abusive things, you should get at least two or three generations of use out of it.

That would make a great eat'n knife if you don't think it's strong enough for normal use ( I've seen them with broken blades and blades used down to nothing that still have their handles on them )
