im not particularly upset and i should have expected the outcome, but when i grabbed my 943 today to take it to work i looked at it and it had a couple extra scratches on it left from my keys, but like i said its my fault and it kinda adds a bit of personality to the knife that was otherwise in pretty good condition, anyways just wondering if anyone has done the same lol

I have scuffs and scratches on all my users. Life's too short to worry about things that are not important.

yea its just kinda funny because i can see the slightly bronze color from the keys rubbing off on the handle scales

yea i think the scratches pop a little more on the black handles, but it gives it more character

I tend to use a William Henry style clip-case for my smaller folders to protect them against things like keys and my ti cellphone case that scratches everything.

One option is a DIY finish that makes the scratches less noticeable. You can stonewash the handle or ScotchBrite it or scratchpad it, to give it a finish that looks even. This type of finish is super durable. You can probably blackwash it like Kershaw is doing with many knives as well, although this is a little more complicated.

Before you try anything else, on the chance that what you're seeing is not scratches through the anodized finish but bronze on *top* of the ano finish, try rubbing with a bit of old denim or some other relatively hard-finish cotton cloth and some BreakFree CLP. I can lift brass shell casing rubs from oxide and parkerized finish with that approach. It may not work, but there's no downside.

After trying to keep the size of my cell phone down to a reasonable proportion and failing miserably in the attempt, I finally took it out of my pocket and slung it on my hip. That opened up my left front pocket for the exclusive use of my folders. Now the only thing they gather is lint. :)

Few scratches look dingy but when you get it nice and scuffed up the handles really start looking cool imo.

Aluminum handle scales are not my favorite, HOWEVER, I've come around to them in recent years.

If I were to EDC one with Al scales like you guys, I'd "stonewash" or tumble the finish to make the scratches look like part of the plan.

i dont really mind the scratches it was just something i noticed when i pulled it out of my bag and was like hmmmm how did all those get there
