With this in my pocket:

Then I went outside to get the mail and there was a package just sitting all innocent like on the front step. What was inside? Low and behold my large regular that I had dropped off at CRK last week to get a little work done!

There was quite a bit of lock stick forming on the knife. While we were there we got a tour of the factory. That was nothing short of awesome. Everyone there is super friendly and helpful. If you are ever in Boise it is well worth your time to check it out.

The knife is perfect now. No lock stick and minty fresh bead blast finish. Needless to say it is now residing in my pocket. Perfect surprise to start off the weekend.

Nice upgrade! I actually tried to talk my wife into a vacation that was close enough for a shop visit, but I was shot down:(

You can't beat the customer service. I was totally impressed with the tour. We walked through every room in their buildings and got a good look at what goes into making a CRK knife. Really made me appreciate the time that goes into each knife and the tolerances they work with.

My wife is from Boise. We live in Utah. I've been going to Boise just about twice a year for 25 years. I never knew anything about Chris Reeve knives until last year. I now have 7. Wish I'd have known about them when they moved to Boise. I'm sure my collection would be longer and more distinguished. I just can't believe I've been missing out like that. Geez.

I'm still interested in what scales are on that Grip? Cuscadi? If so, what material. Thanks.

They are the stock Benchmade G10 scales that came stock on the knife (550-1). A step above the "normal" griptilian scales IMHO.

Thanks for that. I was unaware they made the grip in G10 and have some after markets for mine. Still prefer my Sebbies and if I had a regular I doubt I'd carry anything else.

Large Regular Sebenza = Perfection

You aren't kidding. I always liked the knife, but now the lock stick is gone. It is a whole new knife. Of course they put a wicked sharp edge on it to and evened out the bevels. Can't ask for more than that.

Nice!!! I had large and small regulars years ago and regret every selling them.
