Bought my first Busse-kin (Scrapyard Desert Dogfather) and I am looking for a basic leather sheath for scout carrying it. Either straight leather or kydex-lined, but I'd like to spend ~$100. No frills, just good retention, comfort, and function.
Hmmmm...I've also considered making my own, but I've not the slightest idea how. Tutorials/good book to explain how?
What are my best options?
Thanks.

Congrats on the Dogfather! Its one beast of a knife. :)

Great first!

Making leather sheats is work. You can learn. There is a sheath subforum with some good tutorials.

A dogfather sheath will be a lot of work, but if you are game, you need spme basic tools that you can get from tandy leather. I use 10 - 11 ounce leather. On my sheaths.

Hmmm....
Thinking I'll roll my own sheath for this.
One other question: This appears to have a convexed edge. I love how sharp it is, but I'd prefer something I could sharpen with a stone (no facilities for maintaining a convexed edge and no cash to arrange them).
Who should I have give this a regular (V-grind? don't know the proper name) edge?
Thanks again

Congrats. DogFather is a great blade. Paired with the Dumpster Mutt, they make a good combo.

Off topic but do does your knife look like this?

I always get a kick out of seeing bussekin travel. I sold it to jdiesel, and now you have it and its back in its home in NH.
