Growing up i don't recall him using it, nor in the recent years when he was around and we fished quite regularly
Alas here it was. The smell of old oil, fish and that all too familiar "tangy metal" smell when I opened the knife. The knife has lost all snap when it opened but closed it was still crisp
The sheath it came in looked like it got lost in a swamp during the hot summer months and left there for a year. The button snap was weak and the button itself was a loose fit on the leather. I took it out this past week, to challenge myself i took also a 110 and a white river M1
My plan was to use the swiss army for everything, as old and ill-kept as it was and brought the others along in case the sak couldn't do or stopped doing.
We went hiking and fished into some back country
And were as "rugged" as our state would allow, every time, however remotely a chance that presented itself for a knife to be used i went for the fisherman first. The other tools were used as needed but were seldomly needed, the knife cleaned fished I also dug into the dirt with it to find worms and other candy for fish, stripped off rotting bark and dry moss among other things. Long story short the other knives weren't used. This is a solid win for victorinox that demonstrates the value of a knife on a swiss army tool
