I want to modify a small becker, maybe an 11 or a 14, and make it so it sits handle up on a chest rig(maybe) with hand filling scales,(stippled zytel?) and a persian blade:D Ready to to anything from field dressing, to self defense. And do you think it would last if I stippled zytel scales, then painted them a desert color? I really want the stippled zytel, (obviously leaning on 14) :D But I want them to be a coyote/desert color. I Love persian blades(sorta like a sharpfinger) And Nobody has done I that I know of. I am kinda thinking of something like that cold steel mini tac skinner, but more....Becker:D
 
All it takes is money.... :D


Everything on your wish list is do-able. If you were thinking of "painting" the scales with something like Krylon, it would be OK for a while but the high points would start to rub off in short order.

Hahha:D That I don't have! ;) I need to find someone to photoshop something...I can't take out my 14 and draw on it at the moment because I am at work:D
 
soon, you can :) trace it, mod it, take pictures!
 
Sounds great! I'm not a big fan of Persian style blades but I bet it'll be awesome. Pretty much anything that starts out as a Becker turns out that way.

Are you going for a deep Persian with a full thickness spine, a fairly shallow one with a swedge (like the Cold Steel Scimitar) or somewhere in between?
 
I was thinkin full spine for keeping its ruggedness:D and thanks alot guys! I wasn't sure how you guys would feel about this little thought. I am a huge fan of persian blades, and it looks crazy awesome in my head
