Took a couple months, had to put it on the back burner, but I started out wanting to do a re-blade on my 110. First time using an actual knife grade steel (1095 I think). Well, a reblade turned into a full scale tear down.

Polished the bolsters up, slimmed down the rears, homemade micarta, added some comfy finger grooves. Now it looks halfway decent. I left some of the deeper gouges so as not to remove too much material. I got some touching up on the blade to do. Its got a decent edge for now, but I want to take out a few blemishes. It locks solid, doesnt quite have the snap on the close, but I can live with that. I just need to put a fingernail slot in it. I used gun bluing die to give the blade a slight, almost charcoal, hue to it. I wouldnt have been able to do that had I used a stainless steel of some sort. Oh, and I am not a fan of clip point blades, I always thought drop points offered more strength.

I chose 1095 for it due to its very ease heat treatment procedures. It also seemed to be a bit more forgiving on the tolerences as well. My other choice would have been O1.

Here is some before and after shots.
