I haven't seen anything to say yes or no besides speculation. if he isn't there anymore, and im sure he has a non compete with other makers for awhile maybe even on making his own......i read here the tri-ad is owned by cold steel and its new owners so he cant make his own.....dont know that to be true though. anyone know what he's doing?

maybe its been said and video made etc and I missed that info though.

without Lynn, cold steel is different without a doubt, could argue many ways......and it appears he's consulting possibly.........but without Andrew Demkos designs, innovation, testing and input.....it cannot be as great a knife company anymore. i dont think anyways. I wonder if new owners realize this.

I thought Lynn’s video announcing the sale said both he and Andrew were both staying on with GSM. I could be misremembering that though. Also, given people’s thoughts on that video, take that for what it’s worth.

Whoever is running Cold Steel now needs to make sure that Andrew Demko stays.

That s almost too obvious to post! His part of the intellectual property of the company is a large part of the company s present value.

Good topic jBmonkey.

It would be reassuring to hear from the horses mouth.

Current inventory is drying up, and getting harder to find. Prices are rising. The new owners have not made a presence yet.

I don’t have patience to watch videos, so I have no idea. But, a lot of folks who have watched the videos from Cold Steel have commented that Demko will remain on board-for now.

Demko designs brought me to cold steel. He is great with ergos and making a large knife not feel so large in pocket (4 max). And he's an electrician, so I feel like I have a kind of kinship with him lol!

No Demko, no way!

If Demko and LT still have anything to do with Cold Steel: they are being held in a deep and dank dungeon by a pack of idiot brand managers who are just now beginning to realize that their investment has yielded them nothing. They can’t sell the proposed junk for a premium, because who pay those kinds of prices for a knife can figure it out in an instant, and they have many better products on the market to chose from.

Maybe it is the new ownership's strategy to purposely keep quiet and create panics among customers so that they are speeding up buying Cold Steel products? idk.

sort of like not answering the phone or emails its a turd company

Good grief. I understand that you are mad. Perhaps you ordered something and never got a confirmation email. I get it. But some perspective is in order. The new owners, from the free state of Texas, just purchased an already pandemic-shuttered company in the locked down occupied state of California. It is also Christmas. Shipping systems were already a disaster. They have to hire more staff, create or implement their new website and sales system, reate or implement an automated order tracking system, figure out what jobs should best be done where, and lord knows what else. It has only been a few weeks and despite California and Christmas and Pandemic some of these things are already happening. Just chill.

They just spent many millions buying the brand, they are not going to steal your fifty bucks. Be grateful for the Cold Steel goodness you already own. Gently caress it while saying a prayer to good Saint Lynn, and try to enjoy your holiday as best you can.

Not a bad perspective.

I recently bought a 4MAXX and an AD10. Love them both. Put the l/h pocket clip on the AD10, and the 4MAXX on my right side. Both my new EDCs. I was planning on doing a search to see if any new Demko knives were available. I guess not. Sad.

This is completely normal.

If I work for Ford and design the Voodoo engine for the Mustang GT350, I can’t quit, strike out on my own and go make that engine and sell it. Ford already paid me for my work. They own the design.

I’m assuming Demko was an employee of CS and not a freelance designer that licensed the Tri-ad lock to CS. That would be different.
