So brown came today and delivered my TGLB. I'll post pics tommrow before I beat it all up. It is a very aesthetically pleasing knife, and I like the heft of it. It's weight says it's up to any task I have for it. And dealing with Busse was great. To be honest though, I like the feel of the Basic 11 I bought from hindsight off the exchange better. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the TGLB and to be fair I haven't even used it yet. This weekend I'll be digging around the woods for some war club material. I plan on putting the TGLB through its paces harvesting that. I'll try and do pic's of that to if y'all want. Thanks Lexi for taking my order and putting up with my blonde behavior. Thanks Jared for sharpening my knife and thanks #21 for inspecting it. Till Saturday all.
 
I think it's the grip. I think I'm used to the basic grip. I think if I had it to do over again I would have had the hand sand treatment done.
 
I liked the looks of the g10, TGLB with black/tan was my first. Since then Im a much bigger fan of micarta. Congrats on the arrival
 
Congrats, I got my TGLB last Thursday, also inspected by 21. I don't have another Busse to compare it to. I really like the handle feel though. Its still in mint shape until I get a sheathe ordered.
 
Just my observation from using & collecting, YMMV, but here's my spin........

Natural materials & G10 & paper micarta for "looks"...:cool:

Canvas micarta for "use"...:D

Res-C for "comfort"....:)

Each material has it's "niche" and there are gray areas & areas of overlap for each general family of materials, not to mention personal preferences...:eek:

And of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and most HOGS think something that gets USED & ABUSED is a thing of beauty...

One thing is without question, however-- The TGLB is a great looker AND a great user regardless of the covers!

It's pretty easy to "hand shape" it yourself. Just don't breath the dust. People say G10 is the worst to breath but Micarta can be bad too.
 
Congrats! A TGLB was my first - but not my last Busse. But it will always be my "first" love!:D
