So, kinda slow in here. Let's talk liner thickness.

Bare with me as I don't drink and the wife has a work emergency and had to dial in. So, I am bored. :D

I bought a new Mini Commander from Emerson's store in person on Wednesday. Both liners are identical in thickness. My 2015 mini 7 had thick on lock and thin on the other side. Same as my 2011 CQC-8.

I have heard people say that the thin side is fine as it is really not a stress area. Cost savings....whatever. So why would EKI now be using same thickness liners? Also, the metal on each side looks identical in color, where my CQC-8 looks a little different. Did EKI go with steel on both sides, titanium or is it still steel/titanium?

Anyhow for giggles I weighed the Mini Commander and it is 140.0g.

And here is the pic I posted.

driver- You will come to the place where you will not care about such things. You will accept the Emerson for what it is.
Yes, I could make design changes and some would be improvements, but for now, they are what they are.

I prefer the 0.625 thick Ti liners on both sides. My uses of a knife are more pedestrian and less 'high-speed, low drag', so I prefer the better visual aesthetics and that the blade is positioned right in the center, as well as the lower weight.

They went to dual thick in 2012 or so. I believe the non-lock is still stainless, with the lock being Ti.

I've pondered this myself. I've even taken them apart to see if they were both of the same material. I kind of came to the conclusion that its just one of those things.
