I finally got a LB2 Lit'l Bear LB only one year in production so not many available. Ebay 300070776750 cost me $100.01! off the Conferance room wall. This a 1986 UH Staglon scales and this model did not get the shield like other UH Staglons. I already had the mint boxed LB1's: Cub Lockback with the woodgrain and scrimshaw scales but this had eluded me...till now...I'm as happy as a dog with two dick's and just had to share it with someone..:p ..Hoo Roo

....PS it just occurred to me this little knife off the Conferance room wall if only it could talk..imagine the stories...the things it saw and heard in the last 20 years...oh well at least it was there...Hoo Roo

The dog with 2 dicks . . . I can relate.

I've bid on about 40 or 50 of these and never scored until last night. Patience is virtue sometimes. My bid was much more than the $36.00. I consider this a 3 dick deal.

I picked up my LB2 a couple weeks ago. Cute little sucker. When yours comes in, post me the sheath. Mine came in a gray box with a white cardboard sleeve.

And I have to ask Larry, "Was that a clear out bid you placed at the end of the auction?" :p

....3 hours before mate if you look at the bidding..... I'm always relaxed, its the sniper laying in wait thats all tense and missing sleep... ... the next bid was an undisclosed Koala Bear Trap...and a sniper is going to be bruised and bloody and pay more if they come in on it 5 seconds..hollow victory if you pay too much....thawk "you sure you aint windin me up mate?"
I like the Schrade you got and it was a good price...Hoo Roo

Nah Larry. Wind you up? I think that ship has already sailed. I just don't agree with your shrink. Face it, we don't bid the same and never will and that's OK by me, ... I hope you get a nice red one too. Best of luck!

...got the red one thawk #300070509203 if thats what you were referring to ..it looks beautiful in photos.
We dont bid the same mate....I'll let you in on a little secret...when a professional experienced Auctioneer tells me something about styles of bidding I always listen to see if they have a valid point which is how I also got my experience ,as I am Professional Auctioneer of substantial properties and chattels over the past 20 years and like all auctioneers make things fun to listen to or read, or I find my audience dropping off to sleep. Larry303, I hate to wade into this sniper hate thing you got going on; but, I'm not sure you realize how most sniping is done. Most sniping is done through automatic off-Ebay sniping services. That sniper is not tense and waiting. Hell, he's probably asleep. The computer at has bidding service is going to place his bid for him. Also, he sets his maximum bid well in advance, so if his bid is more than your Koala trap, he was down for the deal to begin with. A lot of the sniper bids never show up in the bidding history because if the price has gone beyond the sniper's maximum bid, the bidding service's computer simply doesn't place the bid.

Thanks Barry, I do understand the proxy bid,I guess I'm just trying to show bidding in a more traditional way gives me an element of control in the auction process where there is very little. Place bid and I'm the highest bidder,I then get advised if I have been defeated leading up to auction end. The aim is to be in the box seat highest bidder towards auction close..I then place my Koala Bear Trap undisclosed bid and relax and I cant divulge how much my undisclosed bid is but many of the sniper or proxy bidder bids have found out when they win with the next highest increment over my undisclosed bid. I have a measure of control, they have none, the sniper with the big clearing bid 10 seconds to go will win it but with no control over what it will cost him.
It will make the sniper bidder think twice with me something they dont have to do with the conventional bidder sitting there with the higest bid with a margin of perhaps $2.23 say waiting to be slaughtered almost every time.
Even as late as 2 years ago I did not have to do this BS because the auctions were conducted upon more conventional auction lines. You could almost go to work as the hihest bidder...come home and find you had won it...but not any more..the auction bidding process has been changed so a different strategy has to be adopted to deal with it. I win more auctions than I ever lose.
By raising this issue I am only trying to empower the average bidder giving them a measure albeit ever so small over the auction process and not get disallusioned with losing most auctions in final 10 seconds.
Hey you guys bid the way you wish and I will do likewise..I thought this forum was about sharing info......Hoo Roo

Hey, Larry. This forum IS about sharing info and that's all I was doing. If offense was taken, I'm sorry; none was intended. My main point is that I really don't think that the sniper bidder thinks that he is going to get the item for a few dollars more than the current bid. I think that most of them are aware that there could be big dollars sitting above the current high bid and they set their snipe bid knowing that. Of course, they hope it'll just be a few dollars more. Just remember, mate, its all about "the natural extension of the hand."
