Well people, I've got my marching orders again, after a brief but enjoyable trip I'm back off to Asia again in a couple of days for a few months - first to Japan and Australia to work and then back to the Philippines to do all the work on the shack I should have done last time!
I've acquired a few knives i really wanted and a couple I couldn't resist. I'd hoped to be able to share some photos to show how I've been using my Fiddlebacks, but a young nephew, salt water and a wobbly boat made that impossible! With a new camera in hand I'll be sure to keep at least the memory card dry this time!
I don't always have access to the internet on our island, post typhoon the broadband and 3g is only slowly coming back but it is huge source of joy to me, when I can get online, to see what's happening in BF and a real privilege to be part of the Fiddleback Forge family, you guys are a real font of knowledge and an inspirational group of people as demonstrated by the generosity towards Ben.

Cheers guys/gals, and especially Andy and the Team at FBF for making spend a lot of money so much fun! Long live the Fleamarket!

Jules/Bear71

(I'll be here til thursday in case anyone has extraordinary Kepharts they want to part with).....

Have a safe journey Jules. Looking forward to your pics. Please take care of my blue magma Kephart.:D

Don't forget to take time to smell the roses.

Godspeed buddy.

Where are you going to be at in Phils? I live in Iloilo but we do weekend camping trips about once a month. Would be cool to meet up with you and maybe drink a couple of Red Horses while talking blades.

Have a safe trip man! I would love to see some pics of Fiddlebacks in tropical Asian settings...or even beaches :) later if you get the chance.

Cheers Mate,

I'm not hurrying and I'm not worrying!

For sure the next time I'm here there'll be a few up for grabs!

Oohh yeah, I live in Biliran (North tip of Leyte), bit remote but we can make something work. I'llbe there for my wedding anniversary late august, and then October/November for a month or so. Pesky work in Jpan/Aus for a few weeks in between.

Pleasure mate, just wasn't grabbing me so wanted it to go to where it was appreciated! (let me know it arrives ok)

Yes mate, I'll for sure get some photos, probably not as professional as yours though! Your review of the kephart convinced me to get my first FF Kephart, still my favorite! Looking forward to seeing your Eucalyptus Burl in action!

Cheers Heber. FYI, the Comp Cutter sheath you made for me is a stunner, it's aging really nicely (polite for getting battered in use)!

Heard there are some beautiful waterfalls out that way, and like 99% of the country, there are some great beaches. Sucks, you will be getting here while I am on my way out for a while. Probably heading back to US in November and wouldn't dare interrupting any sort of anniversary celebration.

G'luck and safe travels!

Safe journeys Jules. Looking forward to seeing the progress update on the shack and some cool pics of Fiddlebacks.

The Kephart is just a fantastic knife! Since I'm to blame I'm glad you like yours! :) I was right in my thinking that I would just love a tapered one, and I can't wait to get caught up some and hit the woods with it. Maybe even a few pics before Thursday :D
