So Many Belt Choices

What belts do you guys prefer to use? I currently have some of the ceramic as well as the j-flex. So far I have ground 0-1 and cpm s30v. I am using a 2x72 kmg.

I've used Norton, 3M, Klingspor, and Hermes, as well as some cheap import stuff. The cheap stuff has some value on woods that plug up belts badly. For the others, they all have decent offerings - ceramic for coarse metal work - structured abrasives (3M and Norton) for fine metal work and, of course the J-flex for fine handle work. I guess I should add zirconias for coarse wood work as well.

My preference for all of the above? Norton! Hoggers for Ceramic - Zirconias, Norax for structured and the incredible NOrton Cora line for J-flex. (KF376)

My 2 cents:thumbup:

Morning Tim, Those are good choices Rob pointed too. The best quality belts are a deal, all things considered. One I would add to the list is the trizact belts in the finer grits, 400 and up. Very flexable when you re working on the final finish.

I've got some sample Klingspor X stiff backed belts coming. I'm hoping they will be better for my convex grinding being that they flex very little. I also like Norton belts.
