So much talk about short handles in reviews, why aren't they longer?

Watching various video reviews on knives I have noticed a common complaint is handles being too short. I myself have noticed it a little. I have small hands and the kabar handle seems very good for me. Bigger hands I guess might find it not good enough. Perhaps the most important part of having enough length is when stabbing reverse grip with a double guard. When I wear gloves I can barely do that without my hand touching the guard and that's no good thing when you hit with force, and again I have small hands. Why don't companies make them longer?

Edit:
I mean fixed blades.

But seriously. Folding pocket knives are ALL about trade offs. To be most comfortable in pocket, generally means it will be less comfortable in hand. So, do you want something that disappears in your pocket, but then is borderline too small? Or do you want a big, chunky knife clanking around in your pocket, that fits you like a glove? Or do you want it somewhere in between? Then there are people who complain about blade:handle ratio, and things of that nature. You can't please everyone, so each maker or specific model has to choose who they're trying to please...

And how often are you gonna "stab reverse grip with a double guard"? In all my years of carrying a blade, including military service, Ive never had to stab someone or something in reverse grip...

Perhaps for most daily tasks they assume the handle length is adequate ;)

I think the more appropriate question is "Why are you stabbing things with a pocket knife?"

Uhm I ment with fixed blades. I just wanted to test stab an old car tire and some wood with my kabar black fighter. I would expect these kind of knives to be capable for usage as weapons so that's why I wonder, well also generally about knife handles. As said, in videos I hear people wish for more length often.

With gloves there is little space between my hand the top guard if I hold in reverse grip.

I use this knife for fun as a light weight chopping knife even though I know it's not intended for it. ;)
