Today I finally recieved my very first HI blade! It is a super cute horn handled bilton. I wanted a light, easy to carry blade for light to moderate cutting and this little bugger fits the bill. I was expecting a small blade of course but I was pleasantly surprised by the thickness and sturdiness of this piece. the hand fit was right on for me and I can hardly wait to take it to work in the upcoming days. :D when I figure out how to post pics, I will.;) Thank you Yangdu for this beautiful piece and in the future(hopefully near) i will adopt a M43 from you.

Funny enough I haven't seen this little bugger in action. a action pic review would be nice:thumbup:

well as you can see the pics have arrived. the blade performs like a dream and accompanies me everyday at work by my side. As mentioned earlier I have placed my order for the M-43 and I am only awaiting for Aunties khukuri shipment to arrive from Nepal sometime in october. More pics of the biltons big brother will appear when it comes in. stay tuned!

you must have a cool workplace...

what a cute little bugger. I should consider one of these little guys.
Don't know why I never gave these a good look before...

yah, I work as a hotel cook and we often have to open up boxes and stuff. I used to carry a pocket folder but those wear out/break. Finally, I decided to get something that can handle abuse like none other yet look awesome while doing it. After much research and finding about the humanitarian efforts that this place backs with the purchases, the choice was clear to me. Also, if you are curious how I wear it at work, I have the strap of my waist apron run through the loop and things stay very secure.:D

Glamdrig2000, you, mi amigo, have style! I like my modern blades, but there is something special about HI knives. I guess it's like hunting with a front stuffer. It does something for the soul. BTW, waiting for a special order M43 seems to be the in style thing to do. I am also awaiting that ever so slow boat from Nepal! It will arrive in due time. I'm now also awaiting a purchase from the good Cp. Punishment. Take care.

Beautifull knife

is it actually possible to custom order these ?
I am imagining a matched set of 4 with a chiruwa handle and a blade length of 12 cm (stupid german knife laws)

They would make ultra cool give a ways for friends and family.

@glamdrig did you order directly from HI web site or was this a DotD ?

You can email Yangdu himimp@aol.com and ask her to have one made for you.

don't have any idea why you would ruin the look of the Bilton by making them Chiruwa but they would be your knives...

just e-mail auntie with your requests and Im sure that it can be done. just remember that special orders might take longer than normal. In regards to your question on where I got this, it was directly off of the site. good luck!

P.S.

When I first read you lines of a matched 4 set, I just suddenly imagined a 4 piece mini khukuri steak knife and fork set LOL. now that would be a truly unique gift item! thoughts on this anyone?:D

4 piece mini khukuri steak knife and fork set

I dont think Ive ever seen a forged fork... though coming from HI it would inevitably be 10 inches long and weigh a pound

though Im not sure where the sweet spot on a fork would be
