So, My Buddy Mike Thourot And I Had A Few Drinks. . . . :eek::eek::eek:

Now before I get any deeper into this story, let me tell you a bit about my oldest buddy, Mike. First of all, when I say "oldest buddy" I'm not just talking about our friendship that goes back nearly 40 years, I'm talking about "old" like "he helped build the pyramids, old". . . :confused:

Mike was born and raised in a cave in Morocco and they have carbon dated him to the Reionization Epoch, which means that he predates the Big Bang theory! . . .

Now that's old!:D:thumbsup::cool:

Anyway, Mike and I were drinking and I told him that I wanted to do a series of "Tribute Knives" for those who had helped me out and influenced me along the way. Since Mike was the one who taught me the most about actually making knives . . . . and drinking scotch, I thought he would be a great place to start. And I think that we can all agree that there is no better start to a project than a brand spanking new bottle or two of scotch!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::D

So, several hours and bottles later, after solving world peace, we started drawing knife designs all over the place! Some on paper, some on the back of our hands, some on walls (This is where Mike prefers to draw his designs.. . . just like he did when he started making stone tools in his Moroccan childhood cave of "Jebel Irhoud" . . . :cool::eek::confused:

Continuing . . . .

When it was all said and done, we came up with a design that has elements of both of our styles, and one that I think serves as a pretty cool tribute to my buddy Mike. By the way, Mike's overwhelming modesty makes him hate the word "Tribute" which unfortunately, makes me love it just that much more!!

"Tribute. . . Tribute. . . Tribute. . . Tribute" . . . That was just for you Mike!;):cool::D

We are grinding out some prototypes and hope to have some spy pics posted soon.

. . . Probably just added to this post. . . So check back later.

These will not be a regular OP2W offer but rather a VERY limited quick sprint run!!!

Let's Drink! :cool:

Wonder if this could be the model offered to those attending the Blade Show. It is just 9 weeks away.

I'm predicting a series of smaller knives based off what Jerry said for the rest of the year

With the fit and finish that Mike puts on his knives I'm wondering if these will a super slick, mirror polished, Custom Shop type of deal or if they will be a Combat Grade twist on one of his designs. It feels like the room is spinning.

Sounds like this will be very cool !!!!
