So... sent my knife to Ben Dale...

How long does it take for Ben to e-mail you after he gets your knife? I sent my knife out on Monday morning, EST, and it is about 7:15, EST, or 4:15 PST. So does he get to work at 3 p.m., e-mail at 7 p.m.? Sorry to pester, but without my knife I feel... like an animal without claws...:(

edit: oh yeah, I sent it priority, which is supposedly supposed to reach him in 2-3 days. Additionally, I gave my e-mail address (albeit handwritten), so maybe its illegible and maybe its not. Finally, I totally destroyed the point and edge; does he take any longer than the 1-2 day turnaround time he estimates on his website? Main point is, I would think that, as of the edit time of 9:28 EST, he should have gotten it, as it would reach him, supposedly at the latest yesterday? Oh, and the estimated time to reach him was 2 days, so... what is one to do?
 
I just got my Sng sharpened by Ben over the Thanksgiving Holiday and had no problems at all and more importantly was blown away by the edge Ben put on it. I don't quite remember but I think he only had it 1-2 days tops.

Just drop him a polite email stating that you are concerned that he got the knife ok and just want to make sure it's not lost in the mail. He'll get back to you when he receives it and will email you when it goes back out to you....believe me you will be impressed with the results. Ben went so far as to include a handwritten note explaining exactly the process he used to sharpen my knife so that I could duplicate the result when I got my edgepro.

BTW did you get delivery confirmation or return receipt?

You sent it "priority" what? USPS? UPS? FedEx? DHL? Didn't you get a tracking or delivery confirmation number?
 
I got mine back in a matter of days. Great customer service, and a great, pretty, polished edge that could pushcut like a mother. The man can sharpen.
 
I never got an e-mail but I got the knife back faster than I ever imagined, I was shocked, and amazed by the edge!! He is awesome, nice guy to boot!
 
I agree with Cliff. Just call Ben or Sierra and they will make it right. BTW, you did insure the shipment when you sent it to EdgePro, right?
 
I was worried about mine because the USPS priority shipping tracking system sucks, and when I called on the following Monday (I had shipped it late the previous Wednesday, told they would get it Saturday) Sierra said Ben had sent it out the previous Friday, which was before I thought it would even be delivered to him. That afternoon I got home and had my newly sharpened knife in the mail. Give them a call, they are great to deal with and very freindly.
 
Sent him an e-mail at 2:49. I rush around for a bit, hop back on at 3:45, do my special voodoo juju dance of good luck, open both BF and my e-mail at same time. I look at all your messages, then go back to my e-mail. I see one unread message. Sent at 2:33, a sparse message: Got your knife the 29th. Sharpened up no problem. Should arrive today or tomorrow. Let me know what you think of it.

Well. All I have to say for myself is :o
And yes, if anyone knows Mr. Dale, you can tell him how bashful I am. In either case, I will e-mail him about the wonders of his edgepro.
