Well, I got a replacement for my trusty Chestnut Bone Case 6375 that I gave away recently. Actually, I have a pair of Case 6375 Large Stockman knives in CV and Amberbone. I had ordered the replacement and EMSPOP messaged me and said he had one for me and that I should send the other one back. Unfortunately, it was a little too late and since there wasn't really anything wrong with the knife when I got it, I don't feel right sending it back. So, I got two knives. I'm keeping the gift.
So, we are going to have another giveaway for the spare knife I bought. I think there are two pocketknives I think everyone should have..... A peanut, and a good sized stockman. As Carl says "A blade doesn't have to be big, just sharp." He is just about right. I haven't cleaned a deer with a peanut, but I think I probably could manage.... it'd get a little messy quartering and I'd have to clean the joints really good after.... A big stockman would be a little easier. Plus, you have three blades.... One for food (clip), one for a clean backup (spey), one for dirty jobs (sheepsfoot). This knife fills the pocket and you know it's there, but it's a good knife for work.
Now, this is a big knife and it may not do for you. The edge is about 2 3/4 inches, but if you measure from the bolster, the blade is 3 1/16 inches so keep that in mind.
Rules:
1. You've got at least 10 posts in the Traditional Pocket Knives subforum before this thread.
2. You don't have a Case 6375 in your carry rotation..... IE. If you got that 1964 Redbone or Greenbone Case 6375 as part of a collection, you should enter.
3. Tell us how you would use this knife.
4. If you win and find out this knife is not your cup of tea, I'd hope you'd pass it on (maybe to someone on this board) that would. I'm not going to hold you to it though.
Give me a week or two to do the random drawing.
