So the Spyderco Military SV90s have been out...

I use mine sparingly since my Sharpmaker is incapable of sharpening the s90v. It's definitely sharp! The ergonomics and blade shape are my favorite knife I've owned to date!

I don't have my own copy, but I got to play with my father's S90V millie. I did an edgeholding comparison test in cardboard and sisal, with a number of different blades - S30V from Spyderco, Benchmade, and Buck, D2 from Dozier and Queen, A2 from Bark River, and SGPS from Fallkniven. The S90V millie outperformed the others by a fair margin.

My best example of S90V's edge holding is just cutting cardboard boxes apart. Where most knives (I compared it to the CPM D-2 Military) will go dull after a few minutes of cutting, S90V kept going, and going. It didn't keep that "cuts like a razor" sharpness, actually it was just about dull by the end, but it still kept just enough edge to get the job done.

It is the first Military that I bought a second copy of. It is my go-to knife at work, and it outlasts even ZDP-189 by a wide margin for drywall repair work. It is the first steel I've ever had remain usably sharp for an entire day of that kind of use, which seems to be even harder on the edge than CATRA testing.

I love it. I'm thinking of investing in some diamond hones for my Lansky before I really run the edge down, but it's a great steel. The CF handle was a bonus too. S90V is the only knife I haven't sharpened. I'm slightly scared of dulling it by sharpening it. It's just so sharp!
