no (but that's pretty cool). ;)

the one I'm thinking of definitely has a canvas/tent covering, but wood poles and a floor.

edited to add: it's also definitely on the ground (but, as I wrote, with a deck/floor).
 
no, I don't think so. I mean, it's sort of Yurt-like, in that it's more permanent than a GP-small or whatever, but more like if Grizzly Adams bred a GP-small with a Yurt...

the one I saw had skinny trees (~3" dia) as the exterior frame and a nicely made wooden deck-like floor (IIRC). the photo I've seen around here was a side view.
