What in the world is that kid doing? Is he giving the tree a slap on the wrist or a pat on the back or a gentle handshake? I can't tell the difference.

I'm sure most of you here could've had that tree down in less than 30 seconds with that hatchet he was using.

When I was 14 or 15, I took out trees that size in less than 30 seconds using a tru-temper hatchet from lowe's, not a fancy Fiskars X7 (which I want very badly).

I'd like to know who's to blame for this crap.

P.S. I'm not sure Eminem is the best thing to go with tree-"chopping".

That kid is being a kid. I'm encouraged that he is outside instead of playing video games.

Eminem seems to be a chainsaw sort of guy.

Don't use hatchets myself, but you can get a tree like that down in 2-4 swings with a limbing/swamping axe. He's just a kid though and this is the process of working things out when you're learning. I'm guessing very few adults understand notches, and you can find plenty of videos of adults hacking away at trees too.

Check out his other videos, he's got one called "Woods talk' and 'Let's build a shelter'. Good for him.

he still has to learn accuracy is the key,not power! who made the video? parents?

i've done worse though as a kid!

His dad is to blame for his grip and maybe taking credit for getting a hatchet in his hands.
Its all good.

I'm sure I did something like that when I was a kid. It's good to see a youngster learning. More power to him (and to his parents for giving him this opportunity).

Nowadays I'd fall a small tree like that with 2 or 3 blows from a machete.

The first tree I cut down was when I was 12, it was a small red oak, maybe 8 or 9" diamater max. Took me a good three hours with my dad's fiberglass handled dull (read: no edge) true temper "axe." Doing something wrong with determination is one way to learn...

Also, I don't think that's Eminem.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd be ruined after that brutal ass whooping!

Reminds me of the time my parents got me a skateboard with plastic wheel bearing and the wheel bolts were over torqued...

Well that was painful to watch. He was swinging back handed and limp wristed so wasnt getting any depth of cut.
