Well I finally got one of these buggers. No it's not the M4 model (it's cooler ;) ). Got it on Friday at a meet after the CKG show. The CF has great texture.

I forgot to take pictures after I shot this video, but I hope it suffices.

PS. She's definitely a user.

I know the feeling. I just got the camo g-10 version on Friday. For years I wrote the Military off as to large. Now I can't put it down. It carries perfectly for me in jeans. It will have to earn it's keep this week at work but I have a feeling it's going to excel. It's to early for me to say I like it better than the Sage1 but I won't be surprised if I do feel that way in time. Both are great knives for the money.

BG-42 Millie is one of the best Spyderco knifes ever made. :D
It was my first Millie as well and I got spoiled since FF was so perfect I could not find another knife that would match it. Good catch!

Funny - BG42 CF was my first Millie as well -- I like it so much I am afraid to carry it :)

Congrats arjung on the new blade... The BG42 blade steel is nice almost like ats 34.

BG-42 is somewhat similar to ATS-34, with some major differences: It has more manganese and molybdenum than ATS-34, and has 1.2% vanadium (ATS-34 has no vanadium), so look for better edge-holding with that vanadium than ATS-34. BG-42 is usually hardened to 61-63 Rc.

Thanks for the info on the steel. I wasn't 100% sure about the properties of it. So far this thing is very impressive. For a knife so large it has very good control and just slices like nobody's business. If this size knife was more acceptable to carry where I would carry it so much more.

Congrats with a nice purchase. Mine is well used and in my front right pocket right now.
It's my favorite Military, but the M4 might change that.

I would also put a plug in for the serrated millie while they are still available - I got one a few years ago for about 75.00 on sale -- I love it -- for utility work it just cuts and cuts.
