I'm confused. I got some questions.

1. It appears as if the 'official' provider of this knife is LaserLyte. But they say "in association with KA-BAR knives"... so is this actually manufactured by KA-BAR? Or does LaserLyte make it and just license the tactool design?
2. If it's LaserLyte manufactured, where is it made and what steel is it made out of?
3. If it's KA-BAR, then I'll assume 1095CV unless someone corrects me. Yes, I know this isn't phrased as a question.
4. Why does this not have it's own BK number?
5. Frankly this seems like a very potentially useful little knife, once you of course take it off your damn pistol. Anyone own and use one of these?
6. Does the sheath dull the blade? :D

"steel blade by kabar", so i guess they make the blade. possibly taiwan. will have to check later, can't find online.

i keep the original in my range bag. it's fun. useful. perhaps a bit silly. no batoning :)

licenced name like tactool and warthog, naturally, bit not a kabar product per se, so no BK number.

rest i would have to guess at, so maybe we'll toooj in there, or i'll call him sometime...

BRL,

The Pistol Bayo blades are made in China from 3CR or 5CR. (I can't remember and I'm home right now.) Not great stuff, but they are supposed to be fun, not a serious product. We designed the blades, contracted them and the finished blades are dropped to LaserLyte where they assemble and package. BTW, Ethan does get his royalty from the BK-3 bayo. So all is well. Laserlyte is happy, KA-BAR is happy and the Big "E" is happy...now all we have to do is keep the customers happy.
Hope this helps.

OK, new sig. Hope ya don't mind.

I'll buy fun, and funny. Think about it, a mini version of a knife that opens a car, so, it would open smaller cars.

Anyone got a Smart Car they wanna donate?

Is there any plans to make a larger one? I know I could just get the regular warthog, but I really like the thumb grooves and the finger guard on the laserlyte.

this is one of those questions that cannot be answered really. businesses usually do not reveal what the next product is, or even the price :>

"dear apple, when is the ipad 3 coming out" -- "dear consumer, you'll know before we do"

there you go

Yeah, I figured as much. Guess I'll just have to keep checking!

Hey Rev, interesting question. Are you asking because you have a LaserLyte warthog and actually use it? Or just because you like the look of the different features that one has?

I'm asking because it seems like these could actually be cool little knives except they're intended purely as toys as manufactured now. "Not a serious product" means, I assume, no batoning through knots :D

I've got to research the steel that Toooj lists, but I've been contemplating a hideout knife and since a hideout does not need to retain an edge or a point for long protracted use, hell might as well make it a fun one (and these are real little).

Don't let Bladite's gruff demeanor and newbie-tweaking ways scare you back into lurking; it's the price we pay for spy shots of the Tweeners :D

if you want a nice hideout knife, that's practical too, check out the KaBar BOGA knife. it's ... awesome.

me gruff? don't want to come off that way, but couldn't think of a better way to answer the question. honest answer is: nobody knows, or can know until we know. they're not going to tell us. it's not good business practice. we can't GUESS because that sets up false expectations. sure, we can ask, every hour, every day, but ... doesn't do much good. sorry if BRL makes me seem gruff ;D

as for spy shot, seriously, do you know how long i've begged and harrassed them to get even those? hardcore! course, now that the knives are literally flowing across the production floor, catalogs are being printed, and so on, things will happen fast. keep your eyes peeled. literally! there's an app for that.

Tweeners all over the floor?? Be a pal and filch one for me, they'll never miss one right?

Bladite I was just fooling around about the gruff thing.

The "storming the Bladite castle to appropriate all the rare Beckers" thing? Not so much :D

I literally just discovered the knife about a week ago so pretty much just like the look of it :D

And no worries Bladite, I like straight forward direct answers and didn't come across as gruff at all.
