Brass or Nickel Silver bolsters for my Cherrywood 110? I can't decide which one complements the handles and blade the best. I'm leaning toward brass because it will contrast the blade, BUT it is a lot harder to keep up. Thoughts anyone? :)

I like the brass my self, polishing the brass is part of the sharpening /cleaning rituial for me. I also think the brass looks"right" on a 110. Thats just my opinion. Either way you will end up with a very nice folder.

I went with brass for my custom 110. Brass is so Buck, and it seems to scratch less than nickel silver, it polishes nicely, it looks terrific with my stag scales, and unlike nickel silver, brass can develop a rich and protective patina that adds a lot of character to a knife. I wish all of my knives had brass bolsters. I think brass would look exceptionally good with cherrywood. Please post a picture when you get your knife.

Went with nickle on my custom shop...the brass is to much of a pain to me if you plan to carrry it.

Oh, you can count on that :D

It depends on how much time you want to spend wiping the bolsters. Brass needs more maintance then nickel. But if you love knives you won't mind babying your 110. I actually like both and have carried both. I also think the brass would look better against the cherrywood

I want the more scratch resistant of the two. I'll baby them plenty with wiping, cleaning, sharpening, polishing, but I want something that can stand up to some hard use :D I think I'm going to go with the brass.

I don't want to sway your decision, both will scratch, and brass is a softer metal then nickel. It will ding easier. Just something to ponder.

may be too late to say....but nickel silver can tarnish too, but is easier to "wipe off" with your hand, while brass may require a polishing cloth now and then.

I have NS w/walnut. Didn't feel like a true 110 at first, but it's kinda grown on me. :D
