Oh, and I relieved Attila of a MAD DOG ceramic blade, currently not living up to the hype...

I picked up a 3" utility piece w/ Tambouti slabs & a buffalo sheath from Arno Bernhardt (nice piece eh, bcaffrey?!), a Woo from Newt Livesay for a friend & a composite neck spike for myself, a Neck Peck from Skylands Cutlery that I'm enjoying too much, Swapped a few knives w/ the guy next to Newt. Will Fennell from Camillus gave me a T-shirt- Thanks Will! Also renewed my sub to Tactical Knives & got the little Camillus U.S. utility folder. Tuff Cloth from Nakano (Thanx Kin!) And I ALMOST bought the Loveless-style hunter w/ horn slabs & mosaic pins from Russ Easler. I'm kicking myself for not doing it now... And I would have bought the Spyderwrench had they been available...

Hi to everyone I met and I'm sure I met some people and didn't know who you were. I was sitting at Darrel Ralph's table for most of Friday and Saturday.

Lourens Prinsloo "wilbur" folder, very funky blade shape. 440c w/ rosewood handles and a very nice soft leather cloth lined pouch. Lourens was next to Chris Reeve and he's another maker from South Africa. All the South African guys impressed me with there clean execution and different looking designs.

Hey, R. Reagan, did you know that your scorpion prototype is going to be manufactured by REKAT with there rolling lock.

I really wanted a Damascus blade Sebenza, but I got to the show on Sat. So that took care of that, anyway- I picked up my custom RCM from Newt and a Neck Peck from Skylands.

The heat of the moment went to my head and I bought a damascus and pearl CQC6 from Ernie when he picked my name out of the hat. It was the last custom left...

i didn't have a lot of time, but the wife gave me a bit of shoeshine money to polish my knife addiction with. so i went and bought a Ricky Fowler FatBoy modified Tanto. 01 steel, 4 inch fat blade, gorgeous micarta scales, 7 3/4" overall. now i cut up the credit cards; but that's why i went there, to get one good custom knife for myself. didn't know anything about Fowler or his work. this knife just seemed made for me...

You guys are making me drool! I didn't make it this year. Anybody going to the Chesapeake Show in Timonium next month? Even though its a much smaller show it is very high quality and with a limited budget fewer choices make decisions easier. Still, I'm going to start saving my pennies, nickels, quarters and dimes and try to do at least one major show next year. Right now I'm leaning toward the Guild Show in New Orleans. Great knives and great food are a hard to beat combination. If I have any money left after that, I'll consider my old habit of one day round trip on the train to the NYCK Show.
