I was just curious what all you guys did for your honeys on Valentines Day!! You are all so sweet to me and I'm not even your girlfriend. So I figured you probably did something spectacular for your women!!

got her into the kitchen and had her knit me a sweater!

:D

just kiddin, I cooked Thai food for her, with some nice shiraz wine, with personalized fortune cookies I made for her. Along with the assorted gifts. And then took her to get ice cream, this little place called Amy's which has the old fashioned photo booths, the ones with black and white 4-up pictures, so we took a bunch of pics.....

and then went to a small Mt. overlooking the colorado river and looked at the lights of austin.....

Then we just went back home and drank wine on the balcony, while I smoked and played the geeetar.

low key....

Bought her a gift certificate to a spa. After all, she supports (not financially) my vices, it was the least I could do.

What!!! But I thought we, you said we, what about all the....ahhh mannnnn...:( :grumpy:

I always get dumped like this...

We went out for drinks, just Mum & Dad, then we spent the aternoon walking the shops where Leanne bought a nice present for herself - which I paid for like a true Valentine that I am...flowers, cards and all that other good stuff... :D

Fixed up a batch of my cherry teriyaki chicken with one of her favorite Chardonnays. Silly card and one of those foil balloons.

She came home from work sick, took 4 or 5 bites, and was crashed out by 7:00. :(

Well, I tried...

My honey was out of town, but I got to spend the evening with my wife and I even got her a card! :D :D :D (Boy am I lucky she doesn't come here to read my posts! :D)

No really, I had to work the whole night. No time for romance on Valentine's when you run a restaurant. You're too damned busy catering to other people's romantics whims. The Mrs. didn't even get to come in and have dinner with me we were so busy. I came home to my wife late, she rubbed my aching feet and I crashed until noon or so on Saturday.

Anybody want to buy a restaurant? I'll take Busse in trade for stock. :D

Wrote a poem commerating our 32 years together, full of allusions to things that would be meaningful to only her and me. My first foray into free verse. Didn't cost a cent, but did cost hours of creating, editing, etc. She is on record as saying that it is the best gift she has ever received. Women love that kind of stuff. I now have lots of bonus points, and it might be a good time to order a knife.

I just went with the old standard, I bought her a dozen Busse knives, OH SHOOT!. That should have been a dozen ROSES, huh? oops! Oh well, there's always next year for flowers!

Hey MikeH, great idea, wish I'd thought of that, you're right, women love that sort of stuff! Hey, would you mind emailing me I copy of that so I could use it too ;) Heck, you should copyright it and sell it. Their must be millions of us shallow married men who'd love to give it to or wives to save some more money for our VERY important toys  :footinmou What? It'll work, poetry's open to interpretation and each reader brings their own experiences into it and finds their own meaning in the authors words, often finding meaning that even the author didn't intend to put into it errr... I mean... nobody understands poetry anyway so our women will never notice :D

Bought her a purse she needed. Took her to a dinner at an Italian restaurant. Went and saw a movie. Took her to another restaurant for Thai food. Bought her a drink and dessert at a beachside pub. Went for a walk on the beach and watched the sunset.

Actually, I rented a condo out in the woods for 4 nights. We left Thursday afternoon, and didnt come home until Monday afternoon. Took her out to resturants most of the time, except breakfast(which I prepare awesomely), and even watched several "Chick" flics with her. I sat through "How to lose a guy in 10 days" and "A walk to remember" and some other Hallmark movie that was playing Sunday night. I even sat through "Dr. Swill" several times! :D

I bought her a new mixer for the kitchen. Any kitchen tool that she wants, I get for her. Anything to help her be more efficient cooking is a good thing!

Well crap..........I live in the wrong part of the US. You all are pretty darn nice. Now remember........we're celebrating my brithday early this year. I know my birthday isn't until October but we decided to celebrate it at Blade Show this year!!:D No I'm kidding! LOL!

Well, I'm glad you all had a good time and make sure you tell all your women that they are lucky gals!!

Have a nice week!

I woke her up with Coffee (this is normal) and gave her a present which was a purse she had wanted... Then had a dozen roses sent to her office. That night I also took her out for a nice dinner in Half Moon Bay, Steak and Martinis.
