W/ sale and cloupon i got it for $28 so i couldnt pass it up. I have always heatd that you can use it to do kydex eyelets and to punch holes for sewing leather etc, but how does it work? Well, how it works is simple enough. What i dont understand is how ro add the sie sets or other things to the unit. All it is is a square endedwhen bar that cranks down on the disc with four gouges in it?

Take the ram out and drill a hole in it lengthwise with the ram, that fits the die.
You will want to hold it in too
setscrew, ca glue, magnets something like that too.

Instead of drilling into the ram, you could make an addon to the ram that accepts dies and such, but that press is so small and cheap you will lose throat room and it's not really worth it.

Drill a hole in a small steel plate for the other die so you can line it up freehand.

I have an old 2 ton arbor press that already has a hole in the ram for the press points that it came with. I actually use mine as a Kydex press. I just use two pieces of 3/4" or 1/2" plywood with the foam glued to it. To maintain the pressure, I jamb a piece of soft wire (recycled clothes hanger) into the gear on the ram.

I don't have the dies to set rivets in the Kydex.

Does he show setting up that press in a video?

Will the 1/2 ton size fit those dies?

Perhaps i could glue a little square of aluminium or mild steel with athe hole derilled on the end of the ram. Eith my little deill press it would be awfully hard to drill a square hole in the end of the ram loke that. Would prolly have to pay a machine shop. I fot some 3/16" mild steel. Could do similar for a base. Eithe use super glie or perhaps something better but would be wary of using JB weld b/c i might like to use it to use it for leather sewing.

Anyone know where i can get a hole punching die to make stitch holes in leather?

Great idea!

You can also use it to set tube rivets. Grind the threaded bit off of two drywall screws to use the tapered bit under the heads to press into either end of the rivet.

yep, I have over 4" space b/t the ram and the round plate on the bottom, so there is plenty or room for me to glue or C clamp little peices of mild steel that are cut and drilled to hold various dies.
