so what do we think of SOG revolvers?

Those are very cool knives, but I do wonder how strong the locking mechanism for the revolver blades are...seems like I'd get a handful of sawteeth if whatever lock is on there just decides to fail suddenly. Anybody own them, use them, are happy with them?

as with any folding knife, much time, effort and money is spent to make it act like a fixed blade. KISS, keep it simple stupid. Knives in almost any outdoor manual or survival handbook will tell you are one of, if not THE most important survival tool. In that capacity, why rely on a tool that tries to do two half-jobs when you could get two tools that occupy similar purpose, weight, and volume for the same cost? IMO get yourself a decent saw and a decent outdoor use fixed blade knife. You can't get any more basic or functional than one working part.

We think more of the older ones than the current ones, but the lock is not an issue.
Forward cutting force serves to push the sawteeth INTO the handle, not out of it toward your hand.
That locking pin is anchored on both ends in the internal steel liners, I can't imagine the type of force it'd take to bust it to where the teeth could rotate out of the handle & into your skin.

Have you held one?
It's quite obvious how it works & why you don't need to worry about it when you do.
Robbie designed it well.

If it folded, it wouldn't revolve, and if it didn't revolve, it wouldn't be a Revolver. :)
