So what exactly did I buy at the gunshow?

Greetings all,

Any input would be appreciated. I found this in a bin of junk folders at the gunshow and picked it up for $6 because I liked the pattern. There was a maker's mark on the blades that was ground off; Parker Edwards of Jacksonville, Al I think?. Overall fit and finish are pretty good, but the blades have a fair bit of wiggle. It feels really good in the hand though, and seems to sharpen up well. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Danny

I have a lockback made from the same damascus steel and same makers mark. Oddly enough (or not) there's also a lot of blade play. I don't know why the tang stamp on your's is partly removed - perhaps to mark it as a Second?

The tang stamp looks like the Parker American Eagle logo, my guess would be the Edwards refers to the person who made the Damascus. The Parker Eagle knives I have had have been decent but not spectacular.

I used to buy those Parker Edwards damascus razor/knives in the mid 80's from SMKW 10 at a time and sell to my coworkers. The guys loved those knives. At the time the price for Parker Edwards damascus knives was very reasonable. As I recall they did not hold an edge, but easily sharpened. I was thinking about those knives a few days ago... Here is another tang stamp from Parker Edwards
