So what exactly do you guys use to strip with?

for the record its only to work my way through college. usually grease up with pam spray and come in the door with an axe and turnouts on. strip with a few choice favorites. usually wild thing or that im too sexy song...gets the batchelorette party going. they love the american flag manthong.

Any decent quality "metal" paint stripper will do the job.

I use "Nitromors", but , I don't know what the American equivalent would be.

Posted at the same time as my "sane" advice. :D

Strip??? um...no... I only a wait on tables there. :o Really....I'm not a stripper... why would you ask me that question... :o

You're in luck; One of the Scrap Yard Dogs recently posted a series of pictures demonstrating the process he used to strip his SS4:
Stripping Made Easy: SS4.

Note: Vic uses a belt sander as the final step on a lot of the work he does. Whenever using power tools on knives you must be careful not let the blades get too hot -- that will destroy the temper. Because of that, I'm told that you should practice to develop the proper touch using cheap knives that you won't care about ruining -- not jump right into grinding your Busses. However, basic stripping doesn't require power tools.

Barry White, but it disturbs the cat.

AHA!!

I knew ... if I waited just a little ... somebody would say the 'right thing.'

Saves me the trouble, keeps my wife from looking at me funny (even funnier), and yet still satisfies the funny bone. NO!! Not THAT funny bone.

[Thanks, Guyon.]
