So, can someone explain what a "GFD" grind exactly is? It would appear from the Nuclear Sea Horse that it means "Grind F$#@ing Drunk", but maybe it means something else. The blade really doesn't look like it has any special feature except it is missing a lot of metal! So what does it mean and do you have pictures of examples?

It's a Grinder front design, as Jerry explained it earlier it means that he never really knows what's going to come of the design until he is in front of the grinder and working on the blade.

::D

grind frontal design, meaning the grinding comes before the designing phase. no drawings, no second drafts, no long thought out revisions to get it right. you take a knife blank and just start grinding on it and see what comes out.

hey ducci do you have a pic of all the dust left from your grinds? that would basically fill your request :D arent you the famed "grinducci" ?

Isn't there a red G10 Game Warden lying about that was Ground For the Ducci (by the Ducci)???

Yes, I am "Grinducci", but I normally have a design in mind when I start grinding, I guess I'm just not advanced in making "GFD" blades like the "Nuclear Sea Horse"!!!

Thanks for the explaination! Nuke on!!!

Close, mi amigo, but as Bill Clinton said to his wife one night, "No cigar." ;) :D

In this crowd, I suspect it means, "Get F$#@ing Drunk"!!!

or "Gone For Drinks"

or "Goods For Derelicts"

or "God Forgives Drunks" (we sure do hope so!)

or "Getting Falling-down Drunk"

I think I fall into all those definitions! Good to see you are around Greg, are you going to Blade West?

Yes Mike, I guess the red G10 Game Warden would fall into that classification! But I learned my lesson on that one!

'Ducci, I intend to visit Blade West one day, likely Saturday. I will have to see how hectic the schedule is then. Hope to see you there.

It will come.

Someday the grinder will call you and you will approach with an empty mind.

Very Zen.

Grinding Fully Drunk design. A bit like when artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Amedeo Modigliani indulged in absinthe.

I for one would like to see the results of Jerry on an Absinthe binge.
