I just purchased a RAT-3 in D2 for a great price and was checkin out some threads on here and the general concensus seems to be, get a RC-3 from Rat Cutlery and not a RAT-3 from Ontario, I actually didn't know there was a differance. Please educate me on this

Yup, RC-3 if you break it for ANY REASON, they fix it or send you a new one! :thumbup:

If the you can still return it, return it and buy a RC-3

From my understanding RAT's F&F is much better than Ontario's and RAT's warranty is amazing.

Plus Ontario tried to steal RAT's design.

There is a long history here, but in short - the Randall's Adventure team had a contract with Ontario for knife design that either expired or was cancelled in the last couple of years. They have since been producing knives under thier own brand, RAT Cutlery. The RAT Cutlery Brand knives are a higher overall quality of workmanship and have a better (as in UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME) warranty.

There are more details that you can read in this forum if you want, but this should cover the basics. Compare the two for yourself and decide!
