So what's the word on the BM 520???

I know the specs but does anyone have one yet? any impressions? my only thought was that it looks like a tough little knife but I wish it was a bit longer.

Any pics?

I just got to actually handle one last week at The Knife Shop in Ft. Mill, SC.
It sure felt very strong and tough, but the handle seemed huge in the hand and in relation to the blade.
I prefer the 720 Pardue instead.

yeah I've got one on order and I'm gonna post here when I get it...I really hope that the handle to blade ratio it's really off. I hate that feeling that youv'e a handful but then you look down and it's a toothpick sticking out of you hand. I have a 730CFHS now that I'm pretty happy with, but this looked with a real worker and I'm a fan of the 154CM steel.
 
Don't worry, the blade is certainly not a "toothpick". It's plenty big, it's just that the handle is so stout and large.
Nicely textured though.

It has arrived! Wow is this a stout knife it is noticeable heavier then my 730 and the blade actually looks bigger (although it's not). I'll start at the tip and work my way back:
The blade is nice and sharp! I almost cut my finger through my finger nail while closing it...the blade it self is Fat in two ways. It is really tall and also really thick...Noticeablly thicker than my 730. The next thing is the blade stop (at leaset thant's what I'm calling it) where on my other BMs this is just stuck in between the liners this one has a screw holding it in. Now for the Axis lock it's actually bigger... the slot for the lock to slide in is longer and feels smoother than other axis lock knives I've had (I've had a least 5 different ones). the liner are full size and the handels have awsome grips on them... Your not going to loose this knife in the mud or around water...even throught gloves awsome grip.

Overall I'm extremely happy with this knife I like it better then my 710 my 806 my 730 my 722...It's nice!

So quit reading and go get your own! your getting it all over the keyboard! :D
 
I handled one at the knife shop and IMO it's another BM winner. The handle feels very comfortable and the blade is of a good size. I'll have to wait to get one, though, as I need to hold off on knife buying for awhile. :)

Tried it, but I got an error message. Dang ! Just when I decide to get that knife, the store is closed and the buy now feature doesn't work. Talk about bad day.....
