Mine's definitely the BK 5, it's got that thin, wicked slicing blade, comfortable all day use handles, and does everything I'd require of an outdoor knife. It's not ideally suited to any one thing, but it does purty darn well in all things. It doesn't hack well, but it recently kept me stocked in firewood for three days. It's large enough to not be fun in finite tasks, but the edge was still thin enough to slice tomatoes ya' can see through and whittle fuzz sticks just fine. It's not as hell bent tough as a Brute, but definitely stout enough for any use I've ever had for an outdoors knife.

The list continues, but you get the point.

(out of current production I'm really, really likin' my BK 10 a heck of alot too, and would in no way feel under equipped stompin' the North woods with it)

So, how 'bout yer favorite Becker and why?

My favorite is the BK-7...It's just the "right" size for just about anything.

The BK-9 gets my vote. That design is totally practical and made to take abuse.

The BK7.
It's long enough for splitting good size firewood with a baton, getting unhung from brush and briars, cutting limbs out of the way, and stuff like that. It's strong enough to pry with, and though the neutral balance ensures that it'll never be much of a chopper, it's easy to use for general cutting chores because of it.
It's on my pack when I'm hiking in to camp, on my belt in camp or dayhiking, and in the toolbox of my truck the rest of the time.
Got a pair of Bill Siegle's G-10 handles on there that made a good knife a great one.

Wish I had a BK5:(

That will have to be my BK5! I bought it with the intention of using it as much as possible!
But...... as it's sadly discontinued, it has become my one and only safe-queen!
It has been tested in the woods and in the kitchen though and this is an outstanding knife for sure!
Better get one of them BK7's people are talking about for the rough stuff!:D

BK9! (I've also got a Campanion) The 9 is just fierce, tough, and honest (if a knife can be honest, I think it can). It does what it looks like its supposed to do, and for the price, its a phenomenom.:D

Regards,

Shaun.

Mine's gotta be the BK-5. I wisely sent mine to Jerry Fisk to have him put his famous convex edge on it... This is the sharpest knife I own.

BK-5 first - got mine directly from theman himself - his edge is phenominal - BK-9 second - factory edge is very sweet too - both great users.

I have the BK7 and 9 and by far the 7 is my favorite. The Bowie is about 50% heavier than the Utility, and I can't get over that. While the Bowie is not at all out of line with other big hackers, the Utility is suprisingly light and nimble for a big knife without sacrificing durability. I have yet to find a big(9"+)knife that I wouldn't rather have a hatchet for the purposes I use it for. I keep trying though:D The 7 is as big a knife as I want to carry or use around the campsite. The 9 stays with the truck for now. What fantastic bargains though. It makes me grin just thinking I got both for a C note.

Campanion is my favorite. It seems to be able to take ALOT of abuse:D, as mine has:eek:. A close second is the crewman. I really like this size of knife.

Right now it is the BK-9. I am very, very excited about the BK-11. It may not take the place of the 9, but I am sure it will see more carry time.
