I have always had a real intrest in robots, AI, and vertual personalities. Just this week I stumbled across a couple links of some real working robots in action. Not dancing or singing or speaking in Japanese, but real robots doing real world applications...sort of.

A walking cow thing. Check out how stable it is:eek: I could see people riding these things like laser mounted horses in 20 years. A cybernetic Teddy Roosevelt would sit atop with a titanium mustache and a big stick firing rounds of depleted Uranium:eek:
A wall crawling deathbot. These look an awful lot like the killer robots with acid filled needles in the 1984 Tom Selleck sci-fi classic "Runaway".

Look they even took out Gene Simmons in that flick:D

"Ahhh! Not the tongue! Not the tongue!"

So when are we going to be overrun? What kind of khuk would you use on a oil cooled killbot? Man, terrorists, zombies, pod people, and now killer robots? Any body got a Prozac?

What's a Prozac ?

Is it something like a prostate ?

Well I have, and it's acting up a bit lately......:o

I like the idea of progress and being a hopefully ex-alarmtech walk the fine line between the creativity of an artist and the concrete nature of a mathematician .
There has been an embargo on the technical end of things for quite some time . Along with this embargo is the exponential effect such technology has upon our offspring and the technology itself .
It is not that we will be able to converse with machines that is the result of this but the exponential result that machines will be able to tell you what to do . We are already being groomed for this result and in truth have been listening to machines for quite some time .
Up till a very little while ago machines were groomed to fit our needs . (made user friendly) or as my tech professor called it (made dummy proof).
Now has come the time of advancement where we are being conditioned to meet the machines needs and to accept their at least partial dominion over our lives .
I could blather on for quite a while and mostly to the point .
I leave it up to you as to whether being told what to do by a soulless piece of cra...oops I mean software is what you really want .

P:S: I won,t even get into enforcement as thats a whole nother frontier . The new west you might say . No way ? Says you ! They don,t have to shoot guns . All robo-cop would have to do is put a few milli-amperes through the old crown jewels for you to do exactly what is asked of you . Theres a new sherrif in town ! L:O:L

I thought we'd stabilized the robot situation when we created shopping malls.

Munk it is my personal belief that mall music is at least partially responsible for zombification ! After all look at "Dawn of the Dead . Were those zombies trying to break in or just returning to the mother-ship ? L:O:L

Oh man ! I just thought of it ! Robot Zombies . Can,t you just see them cannibalising each other for parts ? L:O:L

When I create AI one day down the road, I'm going to feel awfully bad when I have to explain the meaning of life.

"Why am I here?"

"Oh, I was curious"

Wouldn't that be a let down?

WANTED: a gun-cleaning Fembot.

She has to know how to convex edges, too, and have XM satellite radio built into her head.

Hey! I won that and wondered what happened to it. I see it escaped the FedEx truck and is now on a walkabout...

It needed some upgrades. Nasty, if you really want one, lemme know, and I'll make you one, but it may be a while. I told a friend in NY I'd make her one when I find GI Joes or other suitable base figures on clearance somewhere.
