This has probably been asked before but I thought I'd put it out there for Uncle E to see and maybe give in to;) Heck Ka-Bar made a folder out of the Bob Dozier's beefy tactical beast, I think it was called the Bobcat possibly I can't remember but it was a large fixed blade of pretty good quality, turned into a massive, but nice folder so I see no reason the same couldn't be done for the 11 or 14 or even a tweener, heck the dozier is closer in size similarity to the Bk7 or bk10 and it worked out well...Just something to think about. Hell Mr. B should know by now that ANYTHING he makes will appeal to at least 1/2 of us nuts so the sales...hell the pre orders would probably be worth taking the chance:D We'd buy Bk&T sneakers if he made em', ain't that right fellas??:)

Here's a pic of the Dozier. Now imagine an eskabar blade or the BK17 clip point tweener in a rig like that...of course I'm betting even the folder will have grivory:D

Yep, someone actually IS going to post a thread about this this every single month apparently:D

A forum search on "becker folder" would already help you out a lot. I think what has been mentioned in those threads still corresponds to the current situation on the topic.

Who needs a folder when you can have fixed blade like the 11,14, or 24? LOL Yah someone who knows more than I do can say something or you can do a quick forum search, or google search for that matter, but I think the answer on the Becker Folder has been no... or no not now... or get off my lawn you crazy kids! Dont remember :D

IIRC, its cost prohibitive to do it right and be US made

Been covered many times, and is actually kinda a sore subject with those involved I think.

Long story short: they made a prototype, it would have been ridiculously expensive, they scrapped it. Becker's are about value(among other things), getting a lot for a relatively low price. A good folder designed for us outdoorsy types and made in the states is expensive.

Yup. Ethan is not fond of this subject AT ALL. What Bigghoss said is right on the money. A Beckerhead asked Ethan the same question a few months ago with the response, "You had to bring that up?" A folder would be nice but its not going to happen, LOL. Besides Ethan refers to most folders (SAKs excluded of course) as "broken fixed blades."

IMO, this is about as close as you're going to get for now...

Not familiar with that one.

I'm rather fond of Cold Steel and Zero Tolerance myself. And the CRKT M16/M21 series.

That, my friend, is the Benchmade Adamas. IMHO, one of the best hard use folders for the money. D2 steel blade, and a portion of the sales go to the Ranger Association.
